"Playing dolls"
Photo essay that takes fashion and try to pose some ways based on certain aesthetic stereotypes. Play with small scenarios that is encapsulated each staging. Series of 20 photographs of small format print cyanotype, platinum palladium and vandyke.
Doll: monnula, pre-Roman word. It means Rag mess rounded shape or woman serving figurine toy. Latin name comes from 'puppa' and it means 'girl'. Today the word doll appears to show affection.
Origin of dolls dating back to the ancient times (prehistory) and served to play and imitate the reality of people.
After several centuries of its existence as an object always present in human lives, Ingrid Elizabeth offers us her vision both personal and unique to enjoy them again.
Her two-dimensional work of small format, has a special weight for its traditional processing technology as old monochrome photographic development. It is printed photographs in cyanotype, platinum and palladium van dyke, which is applied in few places in the world today.
The puppas Ingrid create a marriage between the traditional (for its technical) and contemporary (its concept). 'Retro and neo', 'anachronistic and now', adapted so that each object gets around relevance.
These presences doll could be compared with the emotion we feel when we play, when we meet with them, our friends to help us collapse imagination and create a world with the reality that we can control, where we are all-powerful.
Play with small scenarios in which is encapsulated each staging of poetic and romantic way, seeing them as young and curious, playful nostalgic or women. They are witnesses of time (prototypes) are thinking or acting, they are the space we give the details that bring value to our lives the essential meaning.
